Carole Wilmet's work is really modern and sophisticated, yet very detailed, where she has combined realistic portraits of people, with bold sploges of colour and patterns and hand rendered lettering.
The way she composes her illustrations is also really clever. With the amount of detail, she manages to make them flow really smoothly. I like how she hasn't used much colour, and has only picked out certain parts, such as the woman's lips, blusher and finger nails, as well as the crazy outfit she is wearing. I like how there is also a combination of different mediums used, such as digital patterns, hand sketched people using pencil, splashes of colour using ink, certain parts have been coloured in digitally, and the text is rendered what looks to be in pen ink as well as a bit of pencil.
This type of work would be amazing on a book cover, fashion advertisement, brand identity, perfume box illustration or on a website advertising a brand.
